Cardiometabolic risks

Definition:

Cardiometabolic risks represent factors that increase the likelihood of an individual developing cardiovascular disease or events (such as hypertension, heart attacks, or strokes) and chronic metabolic disorders (primarily type 2 diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and obesity). These risks are not assessed in isolation, but rather through the correlation of multiple factors such as body mass index, the presence and management of comorbidities, sedentary lifestyle, smoking, and alcohol consumption.

Why is it key in the health sector?

In modern medicine, it has become increasingly important to consider the coexistence of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases under a single umbrella: metabolic syndrome. Detecting cardiometabolic risk before clinical symptoms appear allows for the implementation of early lifestyle interventions or medical treatments, reducing mortality and disability, which result in high costs for families, businesses, and healthcare systems.

Through evaliA, we help institutions and companies calculate and segment the cardiometabolic risks of their population, enabling timely intervention that saves lives and optimizes resources.
