Computer vision syndrome

Definition:

Computer vision syndrome (also known as digital eye strain) is a group of eye and vision problems related to prolonged use of computer screens, televisions, tablets, smartphones, and e-readers. Its main symptoms include dry eyes, blurred vision, eye strain, redness, and headaches or neck pain due to the fixed focusing distance and reduced blinking.

Why is it key in the health sector?

With the rise of remote and office work, computer vision syndrome affects more than 70% of digital workers. In the corporate world, it negatively impacts concentration, increases error rates, and deteriorates employees' quality of life, becoming a frequent reason for occupational health consultations. As part of a comprehensive corporate vision health strategy, our evaliA system allows for the assessment of symptoms related to computer vision syndrome through validated questionnaires, complementing preventive occupational health programs.
