Preventive occupational health

Definition:

Preventive occupational health is the strategic approach to occupational medicine that prioritizes the anticipation, identification, and control of biological, physical, and psychosocial risk factors in the workplace before they cause illness or accidents. Unlike traditional occupational medicine (which is reactive), preventive occupational health uses data and technology to maintain the long-term well-being of workers.

Why is it key in the health sector?

Implementing preventive occupational health programs is not only relevant for regulatory compliance (such as NOM-035 in Mexico); it is an investment with a high financial return (ROI). Companies that transition to a preventive model achieve a drastic reduction in absenteeism and presenteeism, lower their IMSS risk premium costs, and significantly improve the organizational climate. At PROSPERiA, we designed our solutions, evaliA and retinIA, as the technological engine of preventive occupational health in Mexico, facilitating efficient, rapid, and clinically data-driven annual campaigns.
